Foodie Friday: Homemade Macaroni & Cheese Casserole

The first week of school is coming to an end and waking up early is kicking my butt!

So I have decided to make an incredibly easy comfort food dinner. Homemade macaroni and cheese!

While growing up this was a staple in my house hold, and one I have continued to make in my own home. I have made a few changes over the years from my mother’s recipe. So without further adieu…


-2 tbsp of butter

-2 tbsp of flour

-pinch of salt & pepper

-2 cups of milk

-2 cups of uncooked macaroni

-1 1/2 cups of grated old cheddar

-1 tsp of paprika

-1 tbsp of hot sauce


-Preheat oven to 375 degrees

-Melt butter, salt and pepper in sauce pan

-Simultaneously, cook pasta in boiled water

-Add flour and milk to melted butter and whisk

-Add grated cheddar to sauce mixture

-add hot sauce to cheese sauce mix

-Drain pasta and pour into baking dish

-Pour cheese sauce over noodles and mix

-Sprinkle leftover cheddar and paprika in a thin layer over macaroni mixture

-Cover with tin foil and bake for 25 minutes

-Remove from oven and enjoy!!
