Foodie Friday: Crockpot Apple Cider

Apple season is just on its way out the door, and I came up with an amazing crockpot apple cider recipe just in time!!

The crockpot is perfect for those long work or school days when you know you will be arriving home late and need something quick and easy for dinner. Just toss a few ingredients together, turn the crockpot on to low and let it simmer for the day. When you get home, you will be greeted with the amazing fall scents of apple, cinnamon and nutmeg!

INGREDIENTS:

-10 assorted apples (gala and morning glory)

-4 cinnamon sticks

-1 teaspoons of nutmeg

-4 slices of lemon

-1 cup of fresh organic cranberries

-2 teaspoons of cloves

-1/2 teaspoon of allspice

-1/3 cup of brown sugar

-10-15 cups of water

DIRECTIONS:

Start by dicing your apples into 6 pieces and cutting up 4 slices of lemon. Add all of the dry ingredients in to the crock pot and pour the water over top. Mix all of the ingredients and add the lid. Turn crockpot on low and simmer for 7 hours. Remove lid, mash ingredients with a potato masher. Replace lid and simmer for 1 more hour. Strain through cheese cloth, and enjoy!!!
