I am now nearing the end of my first semester in the Hairstyling program at Georgian College. Only two more semesters to go after this one! I have learned so much thus far, even after being out for 5 weeks with the teacher strike that occurred.
I am really starting to get the hand of all aspects of hairstyling; style, colour and cuts. So far styling is my favourite, with cut being a close second. I also love colour, but I am finding it a bit more difficult than the other two… although I am enjoying the challenge!
Lately I have been thinking a lot about what my plans are after college and what my dream career path is. As of now, I think I would be exciting to move out of province for a year and complete my apprenticeship hours somewhere new. After that, I would like to move back to Ontario and work in a salon while possibly teaching part time helping to educate people on products or techniques. Maybe even in a college setting..who knows!!
Now on to more present things… I had one of my classmates wives as a style client last week and she gifted me with a lens for my camera. Which is so unexpected, over the top and simply the most generous thing to ever happen to me. So shoutout to Emily, you lovely soul!
Due to this act of generosity, I have taken quite a few photos today in cut class to test out the lens. Here are a few!
